Why won't Chaeto grow in my sump?

I have tried twice to get Chaeto to grow without success. It just slowly recedes till it's gone. I don't think it's low nutrients. I have a 6500K Cree LED light over the fuge. I have coraline algae out the wazoo but I can't get the macro algae to grow!

    Parameters: NH4 zero, NO2 zero, NO3 runs 2-5, Alk 8.3, Calcium 420, Mg+ 1380.

11 fish with the largest about 3.5", feed mainly mysis and NLS pellets with blood worms or chopped clams a time or two a week. Feed cyclopeeze or Nutramar Ova a couple of times a week to corals.

Does algae grow in your DT or sump?

Very little algae in the DT other than coraline. Interestingly having a small diatom outbreak in the DT right now.

A little red slime in the fuge but the heater and walls have lots of coraline as well.

If its getting the light and nutrients I don't know why it wouldn't grow... Maybe someone smarter than us will answer.
