but I managed another one this week.

Got a new line holder for my GFO and carbon reactor effluent and since there was another opening put my ATO line in to the extra spot.

Filled my ATO reservoir Wed evening and right in the middle of a meeting we were hosting the high water alarm on the ATO goes off. When I put the ATO line in the new holder I didn't pay any attention to the fact that it was now lower than the top of the ATO container. Everything was fine till I filled the ATO container to the top. The first time it came on it siphoned till the levels were equal!

Fortunately the ATO controller did what it was supposed to do and my system size prevented a big salinity change.

I learned some valuable lessons (again). #1 Any time you change something, examine and re-examine what you did and make sure it won't adversely affect the function. #2 Never, ever place your trust in something mechanical. They can and will fail. #3 Never reef when you are in a hurry or distracted. I was anxious to install the new holder and only had a few minutes to do it before company arrived. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Reminds me of the cable commercials. When you reef without thinking your ATO floods your sump, when your sump floods your corals die and your floors are ruined, when your floors are ruined your wife is mad at you, when your wife is mad at you, you sleep on the couch! Don't sleep on the couch, think before your reef!
