Wow thirty gallons doesn't go as far as it used to haha.  My first tank only held 28 gallons total :)

Finished wiring the lights, white balance is off on my camera, it's more white and pink than blue.

Also anyone ever try and put a 7 foot canopy on a tank by yourself, it's no easy task to say the least.

Talk about a nerve racking day!!! The final break down of the first system I built from scratch for myself.

I ran a garden hose hooked to a return pump out to the garage to drain the tank
    [IMG]

Then did the opposite to fill my new tank up and get the filter going before adding fish

She might kill me for showing this but oh well haha...
Erin has a odd fixation with holding my fish, so she caught every fish by hand and released them (yes that includes the lionfish)

I haven't messed with the rock work yet in fear of stressing my fish even more but it's still pretty!!!

She got stung last summer and her finger is still a little swolen from it, but now she can easily pick up any of my fish straight from the tank with out having to chase them around.

Yeah I was studying for my test tomorrow when I smelled something burning, when I got to the living room I realized one of my T12's was hanging about three inches inside my aquarium, lucky for me they are run off a ice cap ballast so when It melted through it cut all the power so  nothing got electricuted in the tank,  still have to get a new end cap and bulb before I can get lights back on my tank though :(

This was a last straw with vho for me
My water proof end caps running on a magnetic ballast almost burned the house down luckily there was someone home cause I didn't have the safety of the icecap

    that would be horrible!!!

After this I'm thinking of switching over to T5's I think I have 3 sets up water proof endcaps so I would just need to get one more set and the bulbs.

What really stinks is I only replaced one end cap and of course it was the brnd new 2 week old one that melted.

Got a new bulb and new end cap but didn't have time to mess with it today unfortunately, so My fish will have to wait another day or so for light and their photo op.

I finally got my refugium plumbed but didn't quite have enough water to
run it, so I turned off my main return pump to get a little more water
    just for testing.

When I turned it back on I realized it was
making a horrible noise, took it apart and cleaned it twice and still
the noise persist.  I really don't want to have to buy a new one right
    now :(

What size pump is it? I am breaking down several of my systems, and consolidating. May have a pump you could get cheap...

I've got a mag 18 on it now, my system can handle up to about 3000 gallons of flow total.

The beauty of it is my sump can run an external  as well I just have it valvued off at the moment, I was thinking of using a DART return pump if I had to buy a new one.
