I finally got the last bigun into the new tank tonight. I think he was jealous of the Naso, Unicorn and Velingi tangs having all of that space! He was fairly easy to catch tonight.
Glenn the fish in the new tank are: 1. Blonde naso tang 6-7 years old 2. Unicorn tang 4-5 years old 3. Sail Fin tang 7-8 years old 4. Vlamingi tang about 1 1/2 years old 6. Male and female Blue throat triggers (dunno age) We bought about 3 months ago. 7. Copperband butterfly The age I listed is how long I have had them in my aquariums. I am still thinking about fishing my yellow tang out of the 100 gallon sump to put in the new tank. The tank needs a splash of color I think. There is another Sail fin tang (not nearly as big yet) in my 100 gallon sump along with the yellow tang.
One SWEET tank !!! It's really cool too that you have successfully had them for so many years, thanks for the reply! Keep the pics coming, really fun to follow along
Here is a fun photo (just not the best quality). Ever feel like your being watched? You can see the new copperband butterfly in this shot.
Time for an update. Jamie brought the canopy over last week, but I bought a new computer and could not find my software to load my pics from my camera to the computer. I found it last night so I will start posting some pics today and tomorrow. VHO actinics wired into canopy. I have a hard time getting a good picture of this. and with the canopy on the tank, no doors on canopy just yet.
A couple more pics, and I will take some more of the finsihed canopy tomorrow (doors on). Acan is from the store in Searcy where the next meeting is I am having what appears to be a diatom algae out break since I have the 400 watt halides on now. Hopefully it will pass soon.
I like the Luminarcs, they put out good light. The canopy looks good. I guess the copperband didn't make it?
Ralph - love the new lights and canopy, your tank is so very lovely !!! Thanks for sharing pics !!! Very pretty acan too.
Asyou can see John the Copperband is still here. We did remove him from the tank for week due to a sore to his side. Here are some pics of us catching him in our trap and one of our alternate feeders. He had an inflammed red/pink area in his lower quadrant by his tail. The camera did not capture it very well, but I can see it in the picture still. Mainly because I know where it was at on the fish. He is doing well and back in the display tank know as you can see in my previous post. On a down note we lost our mated pair of blue jaw triggers. Somehow the female got into my overflow and ended up dead in my filter sock. A couple days later my male jumped to his death. That was prior to the canopy being put on.
Glad to see he is still with you. I can see the sore. Did you Qt him and use maracyn2?? Sorry to hear about the triggers, maybe the large fish was spooking them, as triggers are prone to hyperisum.
Here are some coral pics. I took most of these out of my frag tank to free up some room. Area 51 chalice Purple haze monti Superman monti (cloring back up under the 400 watt bulb) Red chalice from club meeting and a few micromussas from Reef Doctor Micromussa Jamie and I are getting ready to place a large snail and crab order, as you can see my diatom break out. I plan to order probbaly 300 crabs and 100 or so snails of various types to help out.
John we did put him in both types of Maracyn I and II. We also added some GreenX to his treatment. He is doing great other than that one episode.
