dont tell me thats the nano they had on sale at NSA? lol sweet deal, i was gonna grab that last week but had already spent my money on other stuff. pfft im gonna have one of those. i like the whole concept... hmm dont guess u wanna try to frag the tank? huh? o well ill settle for the monti... Nice tank m8 ttyl
LOL... Yes.. It is the tank they had at NSA. The GF was with me and she has been wanting a strait SPS tank for a while. I knew if I got her a small one she couldnt break me too much like she could if she had a big tank so I snagged it.
Its been a long day. I drug it out this morning and started right away on plumbing this thing. Everything I have read and even the good folks a NS said the factory plumbing wasnt the best so I worked most of the day on getting it all square. Also had a chance to run down to Cindy and her Husbands house to grab about 20lbs of the LR they were selling and look at their MONSTER of a tank build.... I finished the day feeling accomplished.
The light will be here Monday. I guess I will be having to keep my hands in my pockets till then and let this thing clear up while I decide on exactly what substrate I am going to use.
LOL I have the sump full of rock too.. I am going to try not to add too much to the top tank. I like the look of this guys tank http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.p ... pic=198318 I was going for something like it but with just SPS
Ammonia in the tank is going up. I noticed the tank getting cloudy yesterday and this morning you can barely see through it.... Hopefully this will be a short Cycle.
Me likes!!! Standard bulbs, 460 atinics and a 10k.... Will look better when I use a combo of T5s and a 20k But for now... this thing is bright!
I get paid again Friday... Then its two Korilias and accessories.... This thing is going to be super sexy.... I cant wait to stock it.
The big camera is too big to even try to take a pic of the sump but just in case anyone is interested in how it is set up here is a shot... I have the drain line running in on the left, the pump and skimmer on the right and LR everywhere else... I also have a small canister filter that you can see in the other pics now hanging right in the middle on the back that is packed with carbon.
I too have committed to the dosing method for simplicity, i think its more forgiving than some of the other methods, just a thought though... but all methods have their drawbacks so choose your poison... i ran across this last year and have been gathering parts ever since. i want to build a control center for all the gadgets and such. http://reefprojects.com/wiki/main_page http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2009/08/arduino_aquarium_controller.html http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/vabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1240000018 Im gonna try the parastaltic pumps, with the arduino i should be able to tune the pumps lights and waves with ease.. found these on ebay last night, been waiting on something like this . they should be perfect, cheap and easy to replace... http://cgi.ebay.com/peristaltic-dos...260598966704?cmd=ViewItem&hash=item3cace8a9b0 the arduino was only 40$ and i salvaged most of the other parts i needed from computers and UPS's heh... Awesome Tank bro... didnt you say something about dinner? i could swear.... j/k ttyl
