Mann are going to thin those out a little once you see witch ones will color up the best? Just asking cause there isn't much room for them to grow.
Yeah.. I will start to pick and chose the ones that are better than the others and start to take out and move them to their final places when I see how they are going to look. I dont see but a few or just a couple of these making it to the final display. We have already talked about when these do get some color and the tank gets some age that we are probably going to trade these off and get a LOT nicer pieces once I am confident I wont lose a $100 acro to just a mood swing in the tank.... These were acquired fairly cheap and I think just as a base to see how the they react and how they grow is what I am shooting for with them... I have BIG plans for this tank... This is just the beginning...LOL These are kinda like my learning base frags.... Start corals as I am calling them. I thought about running the tank for a while with softies but I didnt want any thing in there like that that might spring up later like some kenya tree and such have in my big tank. Mainly keeping softies out of this tank... I can see how these are reacting to what i am doing before I go get that high dollar piece... I have had softy tanks for a long time but this if my first go around with a real all stony tank.
Yeah but if you get three of the ten that were ordered online to really color up nice I think you still came out ahead overall.
Ohh deffinatly... I paid roughly $14 a piece for these things so if I can get 4 or 5 of them to be nice I will have made back my $200 bucks I spent. And have extras to boot! And there are some pretty pieces here!!... I can see what they are turning into and I tell ya... There are going to be some really nice ones here.. A purple acro with yellow polyps is already in the works along with yellow one...
They need to market this thing with a built in Refugium... Since this thing has filled up the tank algae has all but disappeared...
Camera still doesnt catch the color like it should and I am not the expert on retouching to make them look like they do to the eye... I plan on getting Angela to touch a few of them for me and I will post those when I get them.
thanks for the update, I would have a hard time picking and choosing the ones that are the best there are some that draw your eye in in every photo. LOL Thanks Glen
I have already weeded out about half a dozen. There are some that just are not showing any color along with a couple that I have lost for odd reasons. Its not far from being where its going to be as I have taken out the putty and placed a few of them perminently. I am still not sure about two or three of them but, two of the ones I am not sure of have been the fastest growing and have perminatly secured their final place....LOL Had a loss of color in one of my favorite pieces. I did a check on everything and found that some how the selinoid on the CO2 bottle wasnt open ( have a feeling it was when the cat knocked it over ). Fixed that it seems to be recovering. I kinda started slacking and have found out that that is a big no no. Guess I should have noticed the coraline turning white huh......
Tank is coming along nicely... I really dont notice the growth until I go back and look but my o my how they have come up.... I have full color again and everything is on the marks as far as water quality... Now if I could just say the same about my softy tank... Getting hard to keep the PH and the Salinity right for some reason... Mehh... All in due time and fun.... =)
