Thanks for posting Calvin. Glad to read that especially since I pulled the trigger and ordered three of the color units. They are scheduled to arrive Thursday. I've re-thought my mounting. I'm going to try linking the three units with two 18" EXT rails. I'll use two of the tank mounts screwed to the back of the stand with 12" rails on them and then drill holes thru the rails the units are mounted on and the rails in the tank mount and screw them together. This will orient the units properly along the length of the tank and keep the tank mounts out of my way (since I ordered a stand with end doors to make set up and changes to be easier). Sound doable?
Rigged my hanging plan for my Vega's tonight. Also posted this pic on my build thread. I like the look of the mount.
Awesome Doc, looks very nice. I am loving my Vega's but had a problem with one, but AI quickly sent a replacement and I guess thtas one of the advantages with the AI's. I have spoken with a friend who I have been getting coral from and he has his AI's at 85% whites and 100% Blue on his SOL's above his frag tank, he thought I needed to get my lights much higher and faster. I was at 43% after several weeks only increasing 1% twice a week. Well yesterday I pulled them to 50% with no ill effects, so my goal is now to increat them 5% twicw a week till I get them as he said "blasting" my SPS. On is display tanks he has Radions and he's at 100%. Not saying thisd is for everyone and even he said this would not work for some lower light SPS. But I will say that I am already getting great growth.
