clownfish behavior question

I know how the sex change thing works with clowns but i am a little confused by my clowns right now. I had a regular ocelaris then got a snowflake for my nano. The snowflake wouldnt eat which concerned me so i put the regular one in there too because from past experience fish eating can make other fish eat. It worked but now the sex behavior has started. The regular one is vibrating so that means he is a male but he is also chasing the snowflake around and trapping it in corners. They go through periods where if it tries to leave the corner he rushes over and gets in its face but then sometimes shakes and vibrates. The snowflake isnt vibrating but is acting submissive. Im wondering if the snowflake is neutral turning male and the regular was male and is turning female? They are around the same size.

How big are they? If they are juvies their sex really isn't determined yet. Sounds like the regular ocellaris is in line to become the female. It may work out fine but it's usually better to have two different sizes. Seems to be less aggression as who's #1 is pretty well already decided by size.

Hopefully they will work it out without aggression. I would move them back to your DT unless your nano is 25gal+.

They arent actually fighting. No nips or injeries at all which is good. Im about to get a 24 gallon nano for them and might move them into the bigger tank if they pair cause they would be more protected from the damsels. I would rather they be two sizes but petco only had 2 snowflakes that both happened to be the same size of mine. I didnt originaly plan on pairing them.

This morning the snowflake started shaking a little. Just now i saw the regular vibrate, then the snowflake did too. And the snowflake just did this chomping thing and i could hear it! Now the snowflake will out of nowhere rush over to the regular. It was the other way around a couple days ago. Im not sure that what the snowflake is doing is vibrating...ok it is. I guess its just learning so sometimes it looks more like a thrashing motion. It almost looks like the regular is showing the snowflake how to do it. Still no fighting (nips or lip locking).

The snowflake is doing some deffinate charging and the regular is doing no charging anymore but is sticking to corners and vibrates a lot. Maybe the snowflake will win this. I would like it to be bigger.

Wow i dont see them now...so weird. It was a bunch of marine tank products. I tried to upload a video and it just kept spinning. Oh well for now. I just found a good nip on the regular and the snowflake deffinatly seems more tirant like. I would rather see the snowflake with the picasso i just got yesterday with the 24 gallon nano cube. I think im going to get some kind of divider tomorrow and put those twi in the sane tank and see what happens. The picaso is a little smaller.

Snowflake and Picasso won't work snowflake (ocellaris aka false perc) picasso (true percula variant)

I am thinking they are both perculas because they both have thick black lined. But i finaly found a pretty good website talking about this subject http://www.ocellarisclownfish.com/difference-between-ocellaris-and-percula-clownfish/
It says even if they are different they can still pair and it is done a lot. For now i have both in the 24 gallon with a divider. I still dont know the sex of the picasso yet anyway so time will tell.

I do know that the other clowns wont mix like tomatos and clarkii together or one of them with ocelaris or perculas but from what i understand perc. and oc. can.

Thanks. At least they are seperated in the tank. So what happened in these other instances? Did they just fight?

I'm not sure but I think donisreef.com has A.Percula X A. Ocellaris clowns. Snowcasso clowns 300-400 dollar clowns.
