BTAs get along fine together. I have 17 in one tank.

You can get it to let go by pointing a powerhead at it or carefully blasting it with a turkey baster.

Awesome good stuff, and I'll try the turkey baster if you point a power head at it he just acts like he loves it or shrinks up inside his hole haha if I can get him to let go he will definitely be gone like you said it stings corals and if I ever get a bta pop like your I don't want the condy killing a bta

Another question if I have a green and get a red, and they spawn is their a possibility of getting a green red combo?

  6. Came loose, that sounds bad!

Tank maturity is not just cycling and it's not quantifying specific testing parameters. Waiting two more weeks doesn't cut it.

I sure don't mean this to sound negative, simply speaking from experience. Its kid in a candy store mentality, been there done that and my wife still reminds me of the "thousands......cough.....thousands" of dollars in dead live stock.

Also, I've lost several Euphillia's to roaming BTA's. You think it's no big deal now, but when they start splitting they do it regularly, and the offspring are the ones roaming the tank. You may also under estimate the size of a mature BTA. You can certainly keep BTAs in a mixed reef, but you better have a way to get out the ones on the move!

I had to remove 2 from the Reef and put them in the Harem tank recently. One this week and one last week. The one last week stung my Bonsai acro. The one this week parked himself next to my Tyree Undata colony. I wasn't going to let that get stung.

  8. Speaking of the harem, an update in the form of a pic would be nice!

I have about a green bta that's around 10 inches right now. He's been a headache it'll be the first and last big nem I get my next bta I get I want to find one under 4 inches atleast the smaller seem to find a spot quicker than the bigger ones, and the cycling I know introducing fish it's a big thing to cycle because of all the waste they create. But with zoas and sps, lps is it the same will the system act up after? I guess the coral settling. Might be a stupid question

How bad was it? My bta came in contact with my frogspawns one day while roaming and they seem fine. No dead spots atleast

I have been lucky in the past too and had a BTA roam all over some coral and not sting.

I usually feed my bta once a week alternating clams, raw shrimp, along with dosing after every water change with microvert what do you feed yours? Or do you feed then only when you feed fish

I feed my BTA and RFAs once a week with some larger mysis shrimp. I've noticed that if they over eat, they just spit it out.

Awesome I usually have to drop a chunk directly in his mouth for him to get to it. Is there anything hurting in doing this or should I try and keep my clowns beat off long enough to drop it on the tentacles and coax it to his mouth. But from my experience bta don't eat like this compared to carpets or condylactics. Am I wrong here? It's also the same with appetite my bta won't touch clams but the condy would swallow them without missing a beat
