Glenn, your tank is really coming along nicely!

Don't want to be a naysayer, but I believe that is Ricordea florida, not R. Yuma. Someone else please correct me if I'm wrong..

If you just do a google search of each scientific name, the pictures are pretty evident. That two color pattern is very common of R. florida.

Here is a picture of my yuma:

  2. Thanks for the nice compliment - the lsf told me he was a yuma - but I can tell now after a bit more research he is a Ricordea florida.

glenn your tank sure has came a long way. It really looks great. I love your latest additions. I got all of the rest of Sebastions sps corals (except for one large rock with some orange monti). Have to frag off a couple for normans frag tank...once it gets emptied out atleast. Be careful with the ricordea's. they are highhhly addictive. some people need alcohol, some drugs, for me its rics! LOL

  8. Thanks Vickie much !!! Did you get the sps that had the acro crab in it? I had never seen one - it was so cool ! You got some great rock too, several had coral growing on them !!!

I wanted all the coral he had, was great deal, I just ran out of space [IMG]

I know what you mean about the rics ... I love me new ricordea!

thats the same camera i have. they are great but learning how to manipulate the white balance will make your pics look better.
using a gray card helps. they are around 10.00 at bedfords.

  11. screwsloose - thanks for the post back & tip !

Yep, your going to need a bigger tank sooner than you planned. then you can turn the red sea max into your frag tank lol.

  18. We made some changes to the workshop to try and better prevent what you experienced with your brain from Reef Fest by fragging the corals a month in advance and growing them out in Fisher12's frag system. The hopefully will increase the survival rate of frags taken home from the event. This does cut down on the hands on experience but that is a trade off.

  19. I thought all went very well & all worked out nicely, my new corals are looking great !
